Colours & Light
"In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary" Aaron Rose
I was out shooting and suddenly got tired of all that I saw. Tired of looking for ‘that look, that moment’. So I switched off that eye. And found totally different things.
A little town with a big history

Originally established in 1925, Kuala Kubu Bharu is some 70km outside of Kuala Lumpur and the main gateway for those heading to one of Malaysia’s favourite hill stations, Fraser's Hill.  Hill stations were built in colonial days by the British as a retreat because of the coolness in the hills. Like the Peak in Hong Kong except that they are higher here.
In 1951, the then British High Commissioner to Malaya (now Malaysia), Sir Henry Gurney, was assassinated by communist insurgents who ambushed his Rolls Royce on the road to the hill station.
